TITLE: Adjunct Instructor - Medical Assistant, Front/Back Office (Pool)
This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment, including both lecture and skills lab instruction. Instruction will be held from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday in the Health and Humanities (H-Building) at the White Bridge Road campus.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow CAAHEP core curriculum guidelines for entry level Medical Assistant. Provide didactic and clinical application in the following areas which include but are not limited to: scope of practice, ethical/legal responsibilities, customer service, professional communication, and clerical duties which include appointment scheduling, processing of insurance claims, and maintenance of the medical record. The instructor(s) will be responsible for preparing course materials; teaching the assigned content both in lecture and lab, evaluating student learning outcomes and maintaining class records.
Minimum of an Associate's Degree (A.S. or A.A.S.) in a clinically relevant healthcare-related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.
Minimum of one (1) year full-time work experience in a clinically relevant healthcare-related field.
Valid driver's license.
Must possess required insurance.
Teaching responsibilities are typically performed in a classroom/lab environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for three - four continuous hours at a time. The employee may lift/carry objects that weigh 10lbs. or less.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively with students and other college personnel.
RATE OF PAY: $50/hour
